Every December to January in Cebu always feels like one big blur. There’s the Christmas celebration shortly followed by the Sinulog festivities. Now that the holidays are officially over, Parkmall is ready to welcome 2016 with a few announcements.
2016 starts delicious.
You might have seen a few posts on social media about a new restaurant on their soft opening in Parkmall. This latest addition to the largest alfresco dining strip in Cebu is called Shawarma Gourmet. Once you step into the restaurant, you’ll notice the Lebanese chefs going in and out of the kitchen. That can only mean one thing, truly authentic shawarma offerings with the freshest ingredients. Owned by a Lebanese and his Cebuana wife, they will be having their grand opening later this February. In the meantime, feel free to visit and try out the available dishes.
As usual, bring the pets.
For the third year in a row, Parkmall has been recognized for having the most pet friendly environment by Sun.Star Cebu’s Best of Cebu. As pet lovers themselves, Parkmall has cultivated this relationship with our furry friends by spearheading plenty of events and programs for the benefit of pets and pet owners alike. The Cebu Pet Festivale, a four day event for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, chickens, fish, horses and even snakes, is an example of one such event where Parkmall went all in on animals.
A little recap on Sugbo Fest.
As January comes to a close, Parkmall looks back and remembers the many fun activities during Sinulog weekend. The highlight of which was the Kumbira Food Festival which featured the Lechon Festival with an actual pig-roasting.
Sugbo Fest also showcased Cebuano talents with the Tukar Sugbo: Bisrock show with a line-up that included bands Agipo and Phylum, among others.
Parkmall also earned 2nd place for the Sinulog Visual Merchandising Award participated by other malls and retail stores. The visuals installed featured two bamboo arches or singkaban on both of their main entrances.
Singkaban, which is used as a welcome signage of a town or village in the country, is common in Bukidnon where the Singkaban Festival is celebrated every September. It represents inclusivity in fiestas around the country. The singkaban in Parkmall was handmade by the best and most well-known craftsmen of Bukidnon.
