Ever heard of Hanging Rice? They are an awesome website about Cebu.
We scored an interview and delved deep into our goals, reasons and dreams for ZeroThreeTwo and The Assembly.
First off, I’d like to give my many thanks to the Hanging Rice team for supporting ZeroThreeTwo and The Assembly.
I’m a big fan of their website. It’s refreshing to see an online publication that actually cares about the content they publish. Well thought out and well written. We hope they continue spreading the good news about a place we both love.

Here’s an excerpt from the interview:
1. Why The Assembly? What’s the story behind the name?
Back in 2011 when ZeroThreeTwo was in its infancy, we decided to organize a monthly gathering between musicians, artisans, retailers and friends. The idea was to cultivate a community of support for each other.
After bouncing a few names around, we finally thought it fitting to call the event, The Assembly.
At some point, we had to stop organizing it, but the inspiration of getting like-minded people together was still there. When we decided to open the online store, we wanted to have the same underlying idea. It was a no-brainer to call it The Assembly.
We asked a few of the original sellers if they wanted to sell their wares online. Luckily, some said yes. Our small success online paved the way to finally opening The Assembly in JY Square, Lahug.
