Back in November 2013, the strongest recorded typhoon in history plowed through the middle of the Philippines. The devastation was catastrophic.

While plenty of the attention is focused around Tacloban (rightfully so), there are many people up Northern Cebu that still need our help.

When the damage was still fresh, we took a drive up Northern Cebu to see for ourselves. We noticed right away the lack of roofs and available shelter.

That’s why we were delighted to receive this gift from Basic Graphics Inc.

We thought this was pretty awesome!

Roof for Relief is a project spearheaded by Gawad Kalinga in partnership with The Islands Group and LH Foundation, Inc. The aim is to provide roofs for more than 5,000 families affected by Typhoon Yolanda in Northern Cebu.

Plenty of the initial relief focused on the immediate need for food, water and medicine. This initiative is aimed at long term solutions to the plight of our northern brothers and sisters.

The goal: 5,000 roofs for 5,000 families.

It’s that simple.
