Where were you when the Earthquake hit?

I was on the phone, talking to someone from SM. Then everything slowly started to shake. On the other line I could hear people in the background panicking and shouting, “Earthquake!”┬áThen they put down the phone.

I’m sure many of you remember where you were when the Earthquake hit.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude of the earthquake was a 6.7.

Right after, people were shaken, but more or less calm.

That didn’t last long.

Shortly after the quake, there was a local tsunami alert.

Then a rumor floated around of an impending tsunami. This caused a running frenzy inland towards higher ground.

Here’s a video of people running in Downtown Cebu.

It became clear later on that there was no tsunami.

Thanks Snip Cebu!

But obviously something needs to be done about the emergency systems for when disasters occur.

The panic caused more chaos than the actual earthquake.
