This Tuesday, don’t be surprised if you see a throng of kids skating through the streets.

It’s Cebu Go Skateboarding Day!

On June 21, 2016, Cebu will celebrate Go Skateboarding Day (GSD). It’s a day conceived by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) to promote skateboarding.

Did you know that Cebu has the largest GSD united population in the country? Last year, they estimated 8000 skateboarders and enthusiasts joined the celebration.

This year, the organizers of GSD applied for the “Largest Skateboard Parade” in the Guinness Book or Records. Hopefully, they make history and get the record.

If you’ve ever wondered how GSD in Cebu evolved from the very first one in 2009 to now. Watch this documentary below:

A few years ago, we commissioned a documentary showing the history of the skate scene. It’s called “Old School: a Documentary of Cebu’s Skateboarders.” We’re very proud of it.
