MMA fans! Are you looking for a fighter you can call your own? Have you longed for a Cebuano to climb the MMA ranks and crush it? Johnlery “Ian” Caniga is taking the steps to make this dream a reality.

For those of you who don’t know, MMA stands for Mixed-martial arts. It’s a brutal sport, not for the faint of heart. In other words, you need big cojones to compete. Luckily, Ian Caniga has that in spades. He has skill too.  He will be the First Cebuano MMA Fighter to compete in the USA. He has already won several fights in MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Cebu and Manila.

A BS Criminology student in University of Cebu Yaw-Yan Ardigma and sponsored by C’loudnine, Ian Caniga will be competing in Navarro’s Mixed Martial Arts Championship in Pacifica, California USA on November 5, 2011. There will be 150 competitors from different divisions.

Frank Navarro, the organizer of the tournament, is sponsoring Ian and flying him to the US to compete in MMA, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling and stick fighting.

Will he go to the States and kick butt? Only time will tell. But in the meantime, let’s give him a quick shout out and show our support.

Go Ian!!
