This year promises to be a different Sinulog. Less parties and no alcohol near the parade makes for a more family friendly feast. Bringing back the onus to why we celebrate Sinulog in the first place, the Sto. Nino.
Many of us are familiar with the Sto. Nino story.
Sinulog has so many moving parts. The entire Sinulog celebration really does deserve its own calendar. One of the many wonderful events that pop up during this time of the year is the annual Sinulog photo contest. Over the years, this contest has given rise to many young photographers and has likely launched a career or two. Thanks to this contest, there are always wonderful photos to remind us of the revelry.
December to January always seems like a crazy time of year in Cebu. There are all the parties and dinners leading up to Christmas, then a short lull before the New Year’s Celebration, followed by a frenzied preparation for the biggest festival in the country, Sinulog.
