Status Update: Fresh Tunes Friday – November 2016

When I talked to friends about moving to Manila, the common reaction was always about the horrendous traffic. I, having psyched myself out, always responded with the same line, “I can take it.” It’s now been just over a month since we moved and I have to say that they were right. But so was I. The traffic is indeed as bad as they say it is, but I am dealing with it just fine.

Musical Genius: Fresh Tunes Friday – October 2016

A few months ago, I came across a video by Matt McGuire playing a cover of Don’t Let Me Down by The Chainsmokers.
Mind. Blown.
I had never seen such crazy complicated arrangements. Not that I have a vast knowledge of drummers or anything, but I used to play the drums and the stuff he was doing was just nuts.

Life is a Playlist: Fresh Tunes Friday – September 2016

Life is a playlist.

I use Spotify’s Discover Weekly and Release Radar to come up with these playlists and they’re pretty handy. However, not all the recommended songs are actually that good. So I have to keep checking every week until I come up with a solid number of songs. On some weeks I’ll find like 3 great songs and then the next week I’ll get nothing.

Change: Fresh Tunes Friday – August 2016

I’ve changed… and that’s ok. Four years ago Justin Bieber was an asshat joke to me, now he’s an asshat that makes good music. Two years ago we lived in my mom’s basement, now we’re living on our own. A year ago I was an active crossfitter, now I have a dad-bod. And last month I had a comfortable job in Cebu, now I’m about to start a different one in Manila.

34 Days Abroad: Fresh Tunes Friday – July 2016

34 Days Abroad: Fresh Tunes Friday – July 2016

By the time this gets published on Zerothreetwo, I will have begun a 31 hour trip back home. Three flights and two layovers which begins in Akron, Ohio and ends in Cebu, Philippines.
As the title implies, I’d been in the United States for a total of 34 days. It’s been crazy fun, but we’ve had our share of tough times as well. Travelling as a group of 10 adults, 3 kids, 3 pre-schoolers, and 1 toddler is no joke.
