Regular readers know that we are fond of hunting down good hidden food spots in the city. I personally think that the best places are the ones which aren’t in the mall or big recreational centers. Many of these restaurants or cafes tend to be near establishments like schools and hospitals. Camia Street Café and Resto fits that description. It’s one of those places you can always go to if you want a more secluded and cozy dining spot.
At first glance, you might think that the place is just good for coffee and desserts but they actually serve rice meals too. It’s a two-story glass building. On the ground floor, you can see their counter where you can also check out the cakes and sweets displayed. There are also some tables and chairs outside if you feel like enjoying a more outdoor vibe. The second floor radiates purple power because of the purple seat covers. The ergonomic tables and chairs are an important consideration if you want to eat comfortably. There are some interesting paintings hung on the walls. So while waiting for your orders, you can turn your attention to something craftsy!
It’s a cozy place perfect for serious reading, writing or sharing a laugh with your date or friends.
As mentioned, the place offers rice meals, desserts and coffee! But for something new and different, try the Ostrich meat. I was surprised and delighted at the same time to see Ostrich meal choices on the menu. We were not in the mood to be adventurous with our orders so we ended up with the typical Beef meals. I suggest you try the Ostrich meals if you want to make your visit worthwhile! I’ve heard that it’s what most customers are there for.
For the breakfast food lovers, they serve all day breakfast meals! All the silog you want can be ordered any time of the day. Aside from coffee, they also have their own specialty drinks: Dulce de Leche, Peppermint Mocha and Snickers latte. For dessert, my personal favorites are Yema cake and Custaroon (Custard + Macaroon). Both are ridiculously delicious! Please be warned that it’s intended for sweet lovers.
The prices vary depending on your orders of course. Breakfast meals start from Php 75 to Php 120 but the Ostrich meals are a bit more expensive which are priced from Php 200-250. Coffee price ranges from Php 80-150 while the specialty drinks are at Php 130.
