*UPDATE: They’ve got two locations now, inside Mango Square Mall and another in #66 Gov. Cuenco Ave. Banilad Road (across BRIGHT Academy, same area as Bad Boys Wingz)
Here we go again on another mission to find a hidden food spot in Cebu.
For the second time around, my GPS proved to be the perfect company. The restaurant we are looking for this time used to be in Banilad, but has since moved to its new and more secluded location in Elizabeth Pond. They also changed their name to La Lucha. It used to be called La Lagrima Taqueria. Many people still know it as Lagrima, but it doesn’t matter what you want to call it. All you need to know is that they serve delightful Mexican dishes from an honest to goodness Mexican.
Don’t expect anything grand. A few tables and plastic chairs decorate the small orange room. There are some interesting photos on the wall which are probably of significant Mexican figures. Mexican songs are also played to remind you that you are, indeed, in a taqueria. But we aren’t here for the place, we’re here for the…
They have different kinds of Burritos, Tacos and Quesadillas. If you want a safe choice then you can order the Regular Burrito or Tacos, but if you are famished, I suggest you go for the Super Burrito. For those on a Vegan diet, they do have Veggie Burritos or Tacos. Other items on the Menu are Torta, Tostadas, Enchiladas, Flautas, Plates, Chile Rellenos, Nachos and a Breakfast special. I especially loved mixing their burritos with their Orange and Jalopeno sauce.
For the kind of food they serve, the price is reasonable. Price ranges from Php 90 to 370. They delivery too! Depending on your location, they’ll charge anywhere from Php 50 to 80.
I had their Super Tacos with Beef which costs Php 100. It was super packed with beef giving justice to the price.
*Please note change of location of in the update above.
Although GPS brought us to the place, it gave us a more complicated route. It is located in Elizabeth Pond 225-G, Kamputhaw. If you are coming from the Redemptorist Church, simply make a right turn and go straight then you’ll see it on the left side of the road. There’s a sign board so it’s not that hard to find.
