*Editor’s Note: We added a slew of restaurants to this list. It seems lots of people are searching for restaurants to go to for Valentine’s Day this time of the year. So more is better. Have a great date guys!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! It’s that time of the year when the prices of flowers become ridiculously high, restaurants are fully booked and city traffic is unbelievably insane.
The basic question before the 14th day of February would be: Where are you taking your date?
We previously came up with a list of places to go to but that was years ago. It’s time to update it.
The earlier the reservation, the better! You don’t want to get stressed on Friday the 13th.
If you have anything to add on the list, feel free to comment below.
When you and your date want to eat healthy, 10 Dove Street is always a good choice. Nestled in its new location, the café provides more space for its customers. Yes, it is bigger, brighter and better.

If you want a quaint, peaceful and less stressful location for dinner within the city then Abaseria is the place to be. Aside from the sumptuous Filipino dishes, the ambiance radiates a Filipino native vibe which is calm and relaxed. Abaseria makes you feel like you are having dinner at your beloved grandma’s place.

Really more known as a deli than a restaurant, Antica Osteria is one of the best hidden Italian spots in town. It offers authentic Italian tasting food and a great selection of wine. The homey yet undeniable romantic setting makes it a good choice for your Valentines date.

A longtime favorite of many couples, Anzani has had a few wedding proposals in its day (including that of our editor!). From the world class Mediterranean dishes to the breathtaking view of the city, it’s no wonder why Anzani has at one time been named as the Best Restaurant in Southeast Asia.

There are situations when you’ll want to have your Valentines’ date at lunch instead of dinner. Bintana is a good choice with good food and even better coffee. This is another hidden hang out spot that provides an intimate set-up for dates.

That lovely white house! How can anyone miss Circa 1900? Looking at it from the outside, the distinct colonial ambience is perfect for a sweet time with your sweetheart. There are many interesting dishes to choose from. Don’t be scared to try something different.

For those who want to be away from the city for Valentines (which I suggest due to heavy traffic), you can have a quick escape to Mactan. Get a hotel room and visit one of the best restaurants with private rooms, Gold Mango Grill and Restaurant.

Aside from the food, La Maison Rose became known for two things: the pink power color paired with their eclectic interior and the iPad menu. Expect a sophisticated dining experience with surprisingly affordable choices.

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s day than to indulge in good chocolates? When you talk about chocolates, Chocolate Chamber is on the top list. We’ve loved them since they were still known as Ralfe Gourmet.

MARCO POLO BLU BAR& GRILL
Blu Bar is my personal favorite for romantic dates. If you want a quick escape from the busy restaurants in the city, it’s time to go to the mountain side. You can enjoy great food and cocktails while experiencing the breath taking view of the city. The prices are, of course, higher than other restaurants, but it’s a good treat for a special occasion.

As a part of the Abaca Group, it is expected that Beqaa will give you a great dining experience. Those who are close to me know how I love savory foods such as Lebanese and Indian dishes. If you are like me, give this a try – with your date! Just make sure he or she is up for the same food too.

For a chill date night, don’t overlook Gorliz. The ambiance is laidback yet sophisticated, a difficult combination to pull off. With a location right smack dab in the middle of the city, Streetscapes, you can dine in the cold indoors or enjoy drinks at the outdoor high tables or couch.
